Biden announced that it will continue to impose import tariffs on aluminum from the UAE

It was reported on February 2 that the White House stated on February 1 that US President Biden would continue to impose a 10% tariff on aluminum products imported from the UAE. Previously, former U.S. President Trump announced the abolition of the 10% tariffs imposed on most aluminum products in the UAE starting in 2018 on the day after he took office on January 20, saying that the two countries have reached an aluminum import quota agreement. The exemption was originally scheduled to take effect this Wednesday.

Biden said: “In view of our national security interests, I think it is necessary and appropriate to maintain the current tariffs on imported aluminum products from the UAE.”

According to the White House, relevant data from the United States show that after the imposition of tariffs in 2018, the U.S. imports of aluminum products from Algeria have decreased by 25%. In 2019, aluminum production in the United States increased by 22%.

Therefore, Adtech China stated that aluminum products in the UAE will grow by 20%-30% in 2021. At the same time, Chinese suppliers should increase the output of Ceramic foam fitler and castertip to ensure the demand of the UAE aluminum industry.
