Semakin besar angkanya, semakin kecil ukuran pori-porinya. Oleh karena itu, meskipun bahan baku bersih dan logam cair telah dimurnikan serta dihilangkan gasnya, terak sekunder yang disebabkan oleh kondisi internal dan aliran logam cair harus dihilangkan lebih lanjut, dan efek penyaringan ulang sangat signifikan.<br \/>\nPada prinsipnya, posisi pemasangan filter harus sedemikian rupa sehingga lelehan aluminium yang telah disaring tidak mengalir ke dalam kristalisator dan tidak tumpah.
