La solubilidad del hidr\u00f3geno en el aluminio viene determinada por la presi\u00f3n parcial del hidr\u00f3geno en la fase gaseosa en contacto con el aluminio fundido. Cuando la presi\u00f3n parcial de hidr\u00f3geno en el estado de equilibrio, correspondiente al contenido de hidr\u00f3geno en el aluminio fundido, es mayor que la presi\u00f3n parcial de hidr\u00f3geno en el gas real en contacto con el aluminio fundido, el hidr\u00f3geno del aluminio fundido se difundir\u00e1 hacia la fase gaseosa, lo que permite la eliminaci\u00f3n del hidr\u00f3geno. Este es el principio de la eliminaci\u00f3n de hidr\u00f3geno mediante flotaci\u00f3n por burbujas. Las burbujas expulsadas por la boquilla giratoria de alta velocidad son rociadas r\u00e1pidamente por el material fundido proyectado por las palas de la boquilla y por el material fundido circundante, que se mueve a una velocidad relativamente baja cerca de la boquilla.<\/p>\n<p>Una vez capturada, la burbuja se ve sometida a la tensi\u00f3n de cizallamiento turbulenta generada por las dos capas de fluido, y cuando esta supera la capacidad de resistencia de la burbuja, esta se rompe y se divide en dos burbujas. Las burbujas divididas son capturadas a continuaci\u00f3n por otras capas tangenciales de l\u00edquido y pueden seguir dividi\u00e9ndose en burbujas m\u00e1s peque\u00f1as hasta que la tensi\u00f3n de cizallamiento entre las dos capas de fluido ya no sea suficiente para romperlas o hasta que las burbujas se encuentren fuera del alcance de dicha tensi\u00f3n de cizallamiento.<\/p>\n<p>De este modo, se pueden generar burbujas m\u00e1s finas y uniformes que con los sistemas de un solo tubo o de varios tubos, lo que permite aumentar eficazmente la superficie espec\u00edfica, as\u00ed como la capacidad de transferencia de masa y de difusi\u00f3n, al tiempo que se prolonga la vida \u00fatil del gas.
