Hasta la fecha, entre los pa\u00edses africanos que han descubierto reservas de bauxita se encuentran:<\/p>\n<p>Guinea, Ghana, Sierra Leona, Camer\u00fan, Costa de Marfil, Mozambique, Madagascar.<\/p>\n<p>De entre todos ellos, Guinea es el pa\u00eds que cuenta con los recursos de bauxita m\u00e1s abundantes, con unas reservas probadas de 25 000 millones de toneladas, lo que representa un tercio de las reservas probadas mundiales. Adem\u00e1s, seg\u00fan los expertos del sector, las reservas potenciales totales de bauxita en Guinea deber\u00edan superar los 40 000 millones de toneladas.<\/p>\n<p>Los recursos de bauxita de Guinea se concentran principalmente en la regi\u00f3n de Bok\u00e9 (R\u00e9gion de Bok\u00e9). Las reservas de la regi\u00f3n de Bok\u00e9 representan 50% del total de reservas de Guinea. La mitad restante se distribuye en la meseta de Fouta-Djalon y en las regiones m\u00e1s septentrionales (la Alta Guinea).<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan las estad\u00edsticas del Banco Mundial, Guinea extrajo 42,17 millones de toneladas de bauxita en 2017 y unos 60 millones de toneladas en 2018. Su producci\u00f3n ocupa el tercer puesto a nivel mundial, por detr\u00e1s de China y Australia.<\/p>\n<p>Desde 2017, las exportaciones de bauxita de Guinea a China representaron aproximadamente 50% del total de las importaciones de este pa\u00eds, lo que la convierte en la principal fuente de importaciones de bauxita de China.<\/p>\n<p>La principal fuerza en la exportaci\u00f3n de bauxita a China es el Consorcio Winning, formado por Shandong Weiqiao Venture Group, Yantai Port Group, Singapore Winning y Guinea UMS (United Mining Supply). En 2018, la Alianza Win export\u00f3 alrededor de 38 millones de toneladas de bauxita a China.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, el proyecto de bauxita Bel Air de la empresa minera brit\u00e1nica Alufer Mining en Guinea entr\u00f3 oficialmente en funcionamiento en agosto de 2018. La primera fase se dise\u00f1\u00f3 para producir 500 toneladas al a\u00f1o, y en la segunda fase la producci\u00f3n aument\u00f3 hasta los 10 millones de toneladas, cantidad que tambi\u00e9n se export\u00f3 \u00edntegramente a China.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, la filial en Guinea de GAC (Guinea Aluminium Company), perteneciente al grupo UAE Global Aluminium Group (EGA) con sede en Sangaredi, puso en marcha su proyecto de bauxita en junio de 2019. La primera fase est\u00e1 dise\u00f1ada para producir 12 millones de toneladas de aluminio al a\u00f1o.
