In the best case, these hydrogen-saturated bubbles leave the melt and reduce the hydrogen content.<br \/>\nIn this case, from a thermodynamic point of view, the processing efficiency is 100%. However, as the gas content in the melt decreases, the equilibrium pressure of hydrogen in the bubbles will also decrease, so the amount of purge gas required to remove residual hydrogen must be increased.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alloying elements also affect the solubility of hydrogen.<\/strong><br \/>\nThe role of alloying elements is characterized by changes in alloy correction coefficients. Table 1 shows some common casting alloys.<br \/>\nAlloys with larger values \u200b\u200bare more difficult to degas, so, for example, the degassing time of aluminum 535 is four times that of aluminum 535.<br \/>\nPure aluminum. In the transfer ladle, it is used to transport metal between the melting and holding furnace.<br \/>\n2. In the crucible furnace, usually before casting the aluminum melt.<br \/>\n3. In the tandem system, when the metal is transferred to the holding furnace through the launder.<br \/>\nThe first two options are the most common options, and the rotating impeller deaerator (RID) is usually used to complete the degassing operation of these two options.<br \/>\nIn fact, not all rotary degassers are the same. It is important to have the best nozzle design to produce efficient small bubbles.<br \/>\nShorter processing time and reduced gas usage can save a lot of cost.<br \/>\nIn the past, the metal casting industry tended to adopt simple nozzle designs. This type of machine has a lower processing cost but produces larger bubbles.<br \/>\nDue to reduced efficiency, this path has brought wrong economic benefits.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Adjust process parameters<\/strong><br \/>\nWith the shaft in place, once the RID unit is completely lowered into the liquid metal, the Liquid aluminum degassing operation can begin.<br \/>\nThe best shaft position is slightly offset from the center line of the crucible or ladle to help avoid vortex formation in the liquid metal.<br \/>\nThe offset distance from the centerline is usually 2-4 inches.<br \/>\nThe use of baffles is also a good idea, because the baffles can resist the cyclic movement of the metal and reduce the formation of vortices. There is a baffle inside the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adtechamm.com\/ar\/rotary-degassing-unit\/\">Adtech degassing unit<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Put the RID in the correct position, turn on the device and set the axis speed to 300 RPM.<br \/>\nThe inert gas flow should also be turned on, and then the operator should adjust the gas flow and shaft speed.<br \/>\nThe gas flow should be increased until you see bubbles floating on the surface of the liquid metal.<br \/>\nAs the airflow increases, the size of the bubbles should increase.<\/p>\n<p>The desired result is a good dispersion of small bubbles while maintaining a relatively quiet surface.<br \/>\nWhen finding the best combination of flow and shaft speed, please pay attention to the parameters for future use.<br \/>\nAlso note that the total degassing time is usually between four and eight minutes, unless the temperature is high or the amount of gas required is small.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Liquid aluminum degassing method In order to produce high-quality aluminum castings, foundries must remove excess hydrogen from the molten metal while conducting tests to ensure that this is indeed the case.
