Adtech cover fluxes prevent oxidation of aluminum alloy and hydrogen pick up from the furnace atmosphere. Alloying fluxes are used to adjust chemical composition of aluminum alloys, working complementary to master alloy additives in ingot, waffle, button and rod form. All alloying options are designed as multi-functional products, so in addition to their main application, they decrease hydrogen content in the melting process and assist in removing separating non-metallic impurities.

Aluminum Casting Foundry Flux- DEGASSING FLUXES & TABLETS
Degassing products remove hydrogen dissolved in the molten alloy. Presence of hydrogen in solidified metal leads to excessive porosity, lower metal density, and reduced mechanical properties.

Adtech flux and tablet products eliminate this problem, and can remove non-metallic impurities (oxides, carbides, etc.) from the metal, creating a better finished product.

Aluminum Casting Foundry Flux- DROSSING FLUXES
Drossing fluxes promote separation of the aluminum oxide dross layer that forms on the surface of the melt from the molten metal. These help recover metal from this slag layer, improving the yield of the process.

Adtech are formulated to reduce dross and disposal costs, promote high metal recovery, reduce oxide build-up, and remove non-metallics from the melt. They can also help reduce melt loss, and provide a low-cost method of improving your process.

Aluminum Casting Foundry Flux- FUSED FLUXES
Fused fluxes are used in a variety of applications and are especially effective when injected. These are designed as multi-functional products, primarily used to remove metal impurities, alloy properly, and de-gas.

Aluminum Casting Foundry Flux- GRAIN REFINING FLUXES
Refining fluxes are used to modify the aluminum alloy structure to improve cast product specific properties, such as tensile strength, elongation, machinability, dispersion of porosity, improved pressure tightness, and prevention of hot tears, depending on chemistry and alloy type. In addition, refining fluxes reduce hydrogen content and assist in separation of non-metallic impurities from the melt.

Refining fluxes are used as a complement to master alloy additives, or used alone depending on the particular production situation.

When added to wrought aluminum alloys, refining flux increases the number of nuclei, which in turn increases the number of crystals when metal solidifies. Resultant microstructure is marked with finer grain size and shorter dendrite arms leading to better mechanical properties.

When added to cast Al-Si alloy, components of refining flux improves fluidity of the melt which is especially important for thin wall castings. Refining Flux also slows down the growth of silicon (Si) crystals during the solidification process.

Aluminum Casting Foundry Flux- MAGX FLUXES
Adtech proprietary MagX fluxes are designed to efficiently remove magnesium from aluminum alloys. They are suitable for can-stock remelting operations and other applications where magnesium presence in aluminum alloy is not desired.

Aluminum Casting Foundry Flux- SODIUM FREE FLUXES
Presence of sodium in high magnesium wrought and foundry alloys leads to significant reduction in mechanical and fabrication properties. Sodium also impacts other aluminum alloys.
